  • Annual Guided Walk, A Mayo Beach Stroll, took place on Saturday, September 12 at 9:00 am.   .  It was an out and back walk to the Chequessett Club and back.  Speakers   covered topics that included the view, shellfishing, the lighthouse keeper’s cottage and the Mayo Lighthouse, the Chequesset Inn, the Elephant House and the Bluff cottages.   
  • Annual Meeting. Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 4  p.m.    Chequessett Club, 680 Chequessett Neck Rd.  Light refreshments will be served.  Cash bar. 
  • Town Parade.  Saturday, Fourth of July at 10 a.m.   Look for us again this year as we celebrate the country’s 250th Anniversary.
  • Hikin’ for Lichens. Friday, June 5, 2026 from 12 to 2 p.m. and Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 10 a.m. to noon. WCT is cosponsoring with the Harwich Conservation Trust two Hikin’ for Lichens Field Classes. Naturalist Tom Walker will lead the walks on the Great Island Trail. Registration is required. Meet at the National Seashore Parking Lot for Great Island.
  • Saturday, September 6, 2024 Annual Guided Walk.
  • Adopt-A-Highway. The WCT crew cleans a section of Route 6 in Wellfleet during the spring, summer, and fall. Volunteers meet in the parking lot of the South Wellfleet Post Office at 7:00 am on the third Wednesday of each month. All are welcome! Help – stop by and say hi – or beep as you pass.
  • December 2, Giving Tuesday. Wellfleet Conservation Trust is a non-profit organization established in 1984 to assist and promote the preservation of natural resources and rural character of the town of Wellfleet. WCT’s mission is to conserve land in its natural state in perpetuity for enjoyment by current and future generations. How to donate.

Planned giving is a forward thinking way to create a lasting legacy with your local land trust. Please join attorney Kathleen Fowler of the Law Offices of Kathleen Fowler, LLC for an introduction to estate planning on Saturday, November 9 from 9-11 am at the Harwich Community Center. The event is free.
  • 2024.11.02 State of Wellfleet Harbor Conference, Council on Aging, Wellfleet, Saturday, November 2, 2024, 9:00 am – noon
